Seven years mastering the material

The story begins in 2019 with Third, founded by Maxime Mahé around a first project for the aerospace industry: a technical protection for piping components. Over the years the workshop grew, and one thing became obvious: 3D printing is not limited to industry. It also serves healthcare, construction, craftsmen, events and, of course, home decor.

Compared with traditional production methods, 3D printing changes the rules of the game. It makes it possible to create geometries impossible to produce any other way, to manufacture small runs without tooling costs, and above all to produce locally, in France, rather than offshoring to the other side of the world.

Why RE3DLINE

RE stands for recycling: our pieces are printed, by default, from biosourced materials such as plant-based PLA, soon to be joined by recycled materials like PETG. 3D stands for 3D printing, of course. LINE stands for the line of home decor we are building, model after model.

The move into home decor came from a very simple observation: the first vases printed in the workshop quickly found a place in the homes of people close to us. When your friends and family want to leave with your prototypes, it is usually a sign. We decided to turn our available production capacity into objects designed to be displayed in a shop window, a living room, a florist's shop or a concept store.

Everything is made here, in our workshop

This is our real difference. Today, a large share of 3D printing businesses outsource their production through platforms or independent micro-workshops. The result: a single order can be made on several machines, with different materials and different levels of finish.

At RE3DLINE, every piece is produced in our workshop in Guérande. No outsourcing for our decor catalog. This control lets us guarantee consistent quality, and also respond quickly to requests from concept stores, florists, decor shops and event agencies across France.

Made on demand

We produce only to order, with very little stock beyond a few best-sellers. Each order triggers the making of the piece in the chosen color and size, and production plus shipping usually takes five to seven days.

This approach avoids the waste caused by overstock and unsold goods, so common in the decor world, while guaranteeing freshly made pieces that come straight out of the workshop.

Lamps: our next step

Our upcoming lighting range will follow the same logic. We will supply the printed lampshades along with the parts needed for assembly. Final assembly remains up to the customer, as with many lamps sold in stores. A simple way to embrace a touch of do-it-yourself: we print, you install.

Creation open to independent designers

Some collections are designed in-house. Others are born from collaborations withindependent designers. We acquire the distribution rights to their creations and work with them in close collaboration. For designers, it is a way to publish their models without managing production. For us, it is the guarantee of a rich, living catalog shaped by different perspectives.

Proudly rooted in our region

We also develop collections inspired by regional and cultural references: the medieval town of Guérande, the Saint-Nazaire bridge, the striped beach tents of La Baule, and pieces inspired by the Eiffel Tower for Paris. 3D printed souvenirs designed as decorative objects rather than standardized tourist products.

And tomorrow

Our ambition is clear: to gradually close the production loop. In time, we want to recycle our production offcuts and end-of-life pieces in-house to produce a new, reusable raw material.

The technology is not yet fully mature at our scale, but the direction is set: what we print today should be printable again tomorrow, without systematically going back to virgin material.
