Our vases are 3D printed to order in our workshop in Guerande, France, from plant based PLA. Allow 5 to 7 days for making. Every model comes in around twenty colours, from a bud vase for a single stem to wider silhouettes made for a dried bouquet.
The collection brings together nine shapes designed to read from across a room: Tama and its vertical relief, Nami and its ripples, Shizu and its Japanese inspired curves, Kage and its quieter texture. Printing leaves fine, regular ridges on the surface that catch the light differently through the day. That is the signature of the process, not a flaw in the finish.
Dried flowers, pampas or fresh stems
A printed vase takes dried flowers, pampas grass and artificial stems without any preparation. Fresh flowers need one extra step, which we explain in our article on watertight 3D printed vases. Nothing sits in a warehouse: each vase goes to the printer after you order, in the colour you picked. If you are looking for a container for a living plant instead, have a look at the plant pots.
- What material are your vases printed in?
- Plant based PLA, a bioplastic made from corn starch or sugar cane. Our whole catalogue is currently printed in this material, in our workshop in Guerande, France. PETG, which handles heat better, will join our ranges in the coming months.
- Can you put water in a 3D printed vase?
- Not as it comes. Print layers let moisture through over time. The solution we prefer is a sealing resin applied inside the vase rather than a separate insert. Without that treatment, a printed vase is perfect for dried flowers, pampas grass and artificial stems.
- How long does it take to make?
- 5 to 7 days. No vase is held in stock: the piece goes to the printer after you order, in the colour you chose, then it is checked and shipped.
- How do I care for a 3D printed vase?
- A damp cloth and mild soap are enough. Avoid the dishwasher and very hot water: PLA begins to soften around 55 to 60 °C. Also avoid long exposure to full sun behind glass, which is the main cause of warping.
- Which vase size should I choose for my flowers?
- A single stem needs a narrow neck to hold it upright, a dried bouquet needs more volume. We have published two detailed guides in the Journal, one on choosing a vase for your flowers, the other specifically on sizes for pampas grass.
- Are the colours the same across all models?
- Yes. Our vases come in around twenty colours shared across the whole catalogue, so a vase can be matched to a plant pot or a candle holder with no shift in tone.
