Holiday souvenirs: bringing the peninsula home differently

A successful holiday souvenir isn't one you buy on the seafront at the last minute, it's one you still look at in January. On the Guérande peninsula, an alternative exists to magnets and bags of shells: decorative objects drawn in a single line, made locally in Guérande, and shipped within 5 to 7 days, even once you're back home.

The problem with beach souvenirs

Everyone knows the cycle: bought on a rainy day between two tides, the standard souvenir rarely survives the journey home. The magnet joins its cousins on the fridge, the shell ashtray migrates to a drawer, and the "typical" object, often made on the other side of the world, no longer tells anything about the place it's supposed to remind you of.

A souvenir object that works does the opposite: it assumes it's first and foremost a beautiful object, and only secondly a souvenir. This is the conviction that guides our One Line collection, and already the subject of our article on local figurines: an object that tells the story of a place has an emotional charge that a generic object will never have.

The sea in one continuous line

The One Line principle comes from drawing: a silhouette traced in a single line, without lifting the pencil. Transposed into volume through 3D printing, the line becomes sculpture. A dolphin, a lobster, a whale are recognisable at first glance, without scales or figurative detail: just the gesture.

These marine silhouettes are our neighbours: dolphins swim off the wild coast, and the lobster remains the emblem of the region's fish markets. Bringing them home in One Line version means keeping the sea in a form that fits on a living room shelf, even in an interior that has nothing "maritime" about it.

Families, not isolated pieces

Each animal exists as a family: two, three, sometimes four sizes of the same silhouette, to be placed together or scattered throughout the house. That's what makes the object come alive: the Dolphin Family leaps in a staggered pattern on a shelf, the Whale Family parades across a sideboard, and the Lobster Family brings its quirky touch to a kitchen or bathroom.

Many customers create their own ritual: one piece per summer, one size per child, one colour per family home. Since each object comes in around twenty colours, the collection can grow over the years without ever repeating itself. And for the pink bird of the neighbouring salt marshes, the Flamingo Family plays the elegant escape.

Made here, shipped everywhere

All these objects come from our Guérande workshop, just a few kilometres from the bay beaches: 3D printed in biosourced PLA, of plant origin, made to order within 5 to 7 days. No dormant stock, no containers: the object only exists because you chose it.

This also changes the logic of the souvenir: no need to make a decision on the spot or sacrifice a towel in your suitcase. You spot the object during your holiday, order it once you're home, it arrives at your place the following week, made in the same place as your memories.
