Bathroom and makeup storage: 3D-printed organisers

A bathroom stays organised by separating what stands upright from what lies flat: a compartmented brush holder for the first, a low tray for the second. Our bathroom and dressing table organisers range from 7 to 39 €, made to order in our Guérande workshop, in around twenty colors.

What clutters a sink counter

Take inventory of what lies around your washbasin. You will find two families of objects, and only one is really the problem.

The first stands upright on its own or nearly so: toothpaste tube, toothbrushes, a serum bottle, a pump cream. It needs a vertical container to keep it from falling, not a surface.

The second does not stand upright at all: cotton buds, hair clips, razors, elastic bands, samples. This is what spreads out, because you put it in a vertical container where it disappears to the bottom. It needs low, wide compartments where you can see everything at a glance.

Most organisers sold in supermarkets address only one of the two families. Our two bathroom models address both at the same time, and that is their whole point.

One container per gesture, not one per product

The rule that makes storage last is not "one box per product category", it is "one container per morning gesture". Brushing your teeth is a gesture: brushes, toothpaste and floss go together. Removing makeup is another: cotton pads, lotion, tweezers. Shaving is a third.

Grouped by gesture, the object puts itself back in the right place because the storage follows your hand. Grouped by category, you have to think each time, and that is when your sink counter gets covered again in three days.

On the sink counter: the two bathroom organisers

The Bathroom Organiser 1 (20 €) measures 19 × 8 cm. Two vertical compartments welcome toothbrushes on one side, toothpaste and floss on the other. In front, a low round bowl receives what does not stand upright: rings removed before the shower, clips, cotton buds. The three volumes rest on a common base with rounded edges, which prevents three separate objects from sliding each in their own direction when you clean the counter.

The base is printed in a second color. In our photos, white compartments on a sand base, but the combination is freely chosen.

The Bathroom Organiser 2 (22 €) is a set of two independent pieces. The large one, 22 × 8.5 cm, is a three-compartment brush holder on its oval base. The small one, 13.5 × 5.5 cm, is a low compartmented tray, also on its base, for cotton buds, razors and elastic bands.

This is the model to choose if you are two sharing the washbasin, or if the small piece needs to live elsewhere, on a shower shelf or near the mirror. Since the two bases are separate, nothing forces you to keep them side by side. Each piece prints in two colors, body and base, which allows you to tell them apart at a glance when sharing the bathroom.

Cotton pads and soap

Makeup remover pads pose a specific problem: taken out of their packet, they collapse and get dirty; left in the packet, they take up space. The Cotton Pad Holder (7 €, 10 cm) is a ribbed column open at the front. The stack stays upright, you grab the top pad with one hand, and the front opening shows the remaining level without having to look inside.

The Soapia Soap Holder (7 €, 8 × 11 × 5 cm) needs clarification, because its name is misleading: it is not a sink soap holder with drainage grooves, it is a transport box for solid soap. The soap slides into a closed case. It is made for the toiletry bag, the sports bag or the weekend, where a bare soap wets everything else. At home, let the soap dry in the air before putting it back in its case, as with any soap box.

Tissues: rectangular or cube

A printed cardboard tissue box undoes all the work of everything else. Two formats exist with us because commercial boxes come in two formats.

The Tissair (24 €, 24 × 15 × 9 cm) covers rectangular boxes, the most common. Its low, rounded silhouette works from the living room to the bathroom without clashing. The Tissue Box Cover (11 €, 14 × 14 × 14 cm) covers cubic boxes, with a pattern of concentric circles printed on the top face. Measure your box before choosing, that is the only thing to watch.

On the dressing table: three organisers for three ways of working

The three makeup organisers are not distinguished by their size but by the way you access the products.

The Makeup Organiser 1 (25 €, 17 × 17 cm) stacks two ribbed levels that offset each other: a compartmented tray on top for bottles and upright brushes, and an open tray below. It takes up the floor space of a single object while offering two levels. This is the format for small dressing tables and narrow sink counters.

The Makeup Organiser 2 (39 €, 22 × 16 cm) applies the same principle over three trays, plus an independent cylindrical pot for brushes. This is the piece for a real routine, one that lines up serums, foundation, concealers, and leaves each level accessible without moving the others.

The Makeup Organiser 3 (28 €, 21 × 15 cm) addresses the problem the other two do not: flat objects. Eyeshadow palettes, powder compacts, pocket mirror, everything that stacks poorly and takes forever to find. A drawer slides under the base and swallows them, while the compartmented top tray keeps upright what needs to stay visible. This is the model to choose if your makeup is mostly flat cases.

Everyday jewellery

The gesture that remains, when everything else is put away, is removing your jewellery. The Jewellery Tray (10 €, 23 × 12 cm) is an oblong tray with a firm edge, its base an undulating relief with hollows and bumps. Rings settle into the hollows instead of rolling to the edge, chains rest in the grooves without tangling. PLA in a bathroom: what works and what does not

This is the question you need to ask before buying, and the honest answer comes down to three points.

Ambient humidity is not a problem. PLA is not soluble in water. Shower steam, sink splashes, a wipe with a sponge: our pieces live very well in a normally ventilated bathroom. The color is in the material and not on the surface, so nothing flakes off.

Prolonged immersion is not. A printed piece is made of layers, and water left to pool eventually lodges between them. Wipe rather than let it soak, and do not put these organisers in a shower where they would receive a direct jet continuously.

Heat is the real limit. PLA begins to soften around 55 to 60 degrees Celsius. This rules out the top of a heated towel rail, the edge of a radiator, and contact with a still-warm hair straightener or curling iron. Place the iron on its original stand, not in a compartment. For routine cleaning, a damp cloth is enough. The vertical ribs are brushed with an old toothbrush, which makes sense given the location.

Matching without thinking

The nine pieces share the same around twenty colors, mostly matte, with a few marbled finishes and one wood finish. The organisers and soap holder are two-tone: the body and base are chosen separately, and this choice does not change the price. The Tissair, tissue box cover and cotton pad holder are single-color.

Two approaches work. The monochrome, everything in two neighboring tones of sand and off-white, which disappears in a light bathroom. Or the color code, one color per person when sharing the washbasin, which the set of two makes immediate. Printed after your order

None of these pieces are in stock. Your order arrives at our Guérande workshop, the spools of your chosen colors are mounted on an available machine, the piece prints, then it is deburred and checked before packing. Allow 5 to 7 days before dispatch.
